The place you book through should provide you your own life jackets and harness. You have your time booked, and now you just have to wait! You don’t need any type of experience to go parasailing, and you don’t need to do anything special before you go. How Should I Prepare for Parasailing & What Should I Wear? However, it was still a good time! So, don’t be discouraged if you can’t get the earliest time. We actually had to push our time back, though, due to heavy fog in the morning, and we didn’t go out until nearly 1 p.m. It’s actually best if you can get an earlier morning time, as it will be less windy in the morning. Obviously, the weather is the biggest concern when it comes to parasailing and conditions need to be ideal to go out. So, the time of day you pick to go parasailing is actually really important. What Time of Day is Best for Parasailing? I’m sure every parasailing place has different heights they can take you, but we were told we were over 300 feet in the air when we were getting pulled. Parasailing is when you are attached to an open parachute and are getting towed by a motorboat. This post will explain parasailing, what to expect when you go, how to dress for parasailing and when the best time of day to go parasailing is! Enjoy! Hopefully, this post will help clear up what to expect when you go parasailing for the first time and convince you to actually do it! I’m so glad my sister-in-law talked me into it, because we had a blast – despite my irrational fears, haha! (My family ended up going as a group of 5, and my sister-in-law and I went together.) (I’m not a very strong swimmer, so water makes me a bit nervous.) This is mainly because I didn’t know what exactly it all entailed other than it combined two of my big fears – heights and the potential to drown, haha. Everyone was very nice but I thought it was quite expensive and if you plan to jet ski, look into jet ski rental tours on the intercoastal waterway, it's much easier to handle on the calmer water.Parasailing is one thing I never thought I would talk myself into. All of the boat portions are not good if it is super windy and choppy so I wish you calm seas! Also note that the entire process took us an hour and a half but that could have been because of the windy weather. Beautiful view from way up there and easy up and down. The parasailing part was the easiest part. They went up first and we had to wait it out in the boat as we were tossed around by the waves and yes, you will get WET. We then had to transfer onto a second boat to actually go parasailing with another family. The entire time on each boat, the waves were rocking us like crazy and made us feel sick. We were met with a smaller boat full of bugs (harmless but still) and a very nice captain that took us out to the parasail boat. Even just getting to the parasail boat from the beach was challenging. I was told that if I did not go up with my kids, they couldn't go because the guys could not get them back down. We went on a very windy day that was almost too windy for the parasail. The first thing to know is that this tour leaves from the beach so if the weather and water is calm, no problem but if it's rough and windy, it can be quite challenging and I wouldn't recommend that you do it that day. Booked it the night before and paid to observe them from the boat. Went parasailing with my kids last week from Bonita Beach. She refused to let me talk to her manager and said “sorry for the inconvenience I am cancelling your trip your next week.” Without my consent- she cancelled our re-booked parasailing trip to avoid letting us use an umbrella or talk to her manager. I explained that we already paid for parking and they never even attempted to contact me to tell me that the trip was cancelled - she said it’s not her job to tell people it’s cancelled and if I wanted shade I should go to the nearby restaurant. The girl laughed in my face and said absolutely not. I asked if we could use two beach chairs and an umbrella for an hour for my senior parents and 1 year old to sit under while my older kids played in the water. This company also rents out umbrellas and beach chairs. Now 7 of us are standing there and we already paid to park. The girl says it’s cancelled, no phone call, no email, nothing. I booked for my family to do the parasailing during spring break.
